:: MSM - Methyl Sulfonyl Methane
» What is MSM?
MSM is a naturally occurring sulphur compound found in fruits, vegetables, cow’s milk and meat.
It is closely related to Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) and is a key building block of glycosaminoglycans.
The sulphur found in foods may be lost during food processing, storage or cooking making supplementation advisable in certain situations.
The role of elemental sulfur in human nutrition is only just beginning to be understood. Researchers at the American Institute for Biosocial and Medical Research note that the low toxicological profiles of these sulphur compounds, combined with promising therapeutic effects, warrant continued human clinical trials.
